- Medi-Cal/Medicaid is a federally
administered program designed to pay for Skilled Nursing Care costs for
those age 65 or over, or a person who is permanently disabled with a
possible Share of Cost.
- If a person has been in the hospital for
3 or more days and must go to a Skilled Nursing Facility, Medicare may pay
for the first 20 days.
- Some supplemental health carriers may pay
for an additional 80 days.
- You pay after the first 100 days.
- Regardless of your assets, many times Medi-Cal
benefits can be obtained.
- The Medi-Cal System can be very
complicated. It is best to seek an experienced advisor who
can help you get the maximum benefit out of the Medicaid monies that a
portion of your Federal and State taxes have been funding since 1962.

In The News:
See Deborah Christensen-Short in action! She will be
speaking at the Yuba City Senior Center on October 10th at 10:30 a.m. The
topic will be What You Should Know About Long Term Care
Expense Planning.
"As each day passes we see radical changes in government
benefits and senior services not to mention our physical and mental health.
What we thought was a secure future may not live up to our expectations.
Planning for future needs including long term care and how to finance it are
responsibilities we must all take on with a vengeance to ensure that our
standard of living continues as we age."
Look Forward to Seeing you there!
